This robotic system allows scientists to test hundreds of thousands of potential drugs that would have been otherwise been impossible because they are automating a process that is highly complex and meticulous. Could this be done by a human? Yes, but if done by hand it would take 8 hours a day, 7 days a week for 12 years, to do what this robot does in a week.
